Applicant Tracking System (ATS) is a HR software that helps organizations automate their hiring process by tracking job applications, extract text parsing, and organize candidates inside a centralized platform that saves time for organizations. Most companies in the world use different ATS software so not all ATS may work the same but they serve the same purpose.

Be wary of many websites that offer free ATS scanning and scoring, it doesn’t work like that. Companies use various ATS tools to post job posts and may set filters such as citizenship, specific technical skills, specific licenses, educational requirements, or certain minimum requirements - which, if not met, will disqualify a candidate automatically.

Will buying a service guarantee me a job?

No, guaranteeing jobs is illegal to advertise. It is also unethical so be wary of any professional career coach or service guaranteeing you a job.

Do I need multiple resumes for different jobs?

There is an old myth that your Resume needs to be completely different for different jobs with different keywords to pass the ATS but that is not true at all.

The truth is, all you need is 1 strong Resume which you will use to apply for several jobs within a similar role niche (different industries is completely okay). The strongest Resume/CVs are tailored and focused on a very particular role niche.

For example, for someone into corporate accounting: An optimized Resume/CV can be used to get accounting, audit, payroll, financial management, and taxation jobs.

What is the difference between a Resume and a CV?

A Resume is a professional document that jobseekers use to apply for employment which highlights their background, professional experiences, education, qualifications, and skills.

Outside North America, a CV is basically the same as a Resume. The term ‘Resume’ is used mainly in North America.

An American CV is a more detailed document that includes more information on education, publications, conferences, presentations, awards, etc. An American CV is used mainly for jobs within the Academic and Medical Industries.

There is no difference in the effectiveness of your application on applying to various industries as long as the target role niche is touched upon.

Example: A software engineer can work in Tech, Real Estate, Finance, Retail, and other industries as long as the role itself is related to software engineering

Can my Resume/CV cater towards different roles?

Absolutely!

All you need is 1 professional Resume/CV which is focused and tailored to suit the new target role niche. If you are looking to transfer your experiences into a new role, make sure the new role is something you can technically do.

It is also advisable to obtain any certifications, courses, and additional qualifications which are desired by the new role niche.

For example, someone who has experience in administration and project management but wants to pivot into cybersecurity should obtain the relevant technical skills, the cybersecurity certifications and qualifications before even thinking of a career change.

By doing this, we can establish transferable skills + passion + commitment to pursue the new role niche. That is all we need.

What will be the new format for my Resume/CVs?

The new format for all Resume and CVs here at Career is just a plain and professional format that we know works very well for professionals of all career stages

We use Harvard style Resumes and CVs for all of our customers. The ones who may need a design touch to it will have a slight change where the top section is coloured. That’s it.

No icons, graphics, shapes, illustrations, cool designs allowed. That is a strict rule we have set here at Career so that we can actually deliver something that works to impress the HR side

How does the resume writing process work?

How do I request revisions?

Very simple! Just ask your career advisor, they are literally dedicated just for you. 99.9% of the time, they will easily be able to help you.

What is a cover letter? Do I need it?

What is a A cover letter is a document sent alongside your resume when applying for jobs. It acts as a personal introduction and helps to sell your application even further. You may need it as some jobs require it, but some also don’t.letter? Do I need it?

Working with us will help you save time and have an extremely professional cover letter - from scratch and personalized to your needs.

Do I have to provide a draft for my cover letter?

No need.

Our Career team specializes in writing cover letters entirely from scratch. We also advise you to not even provide us a draft as we strongly believe our well-researched structure and strategy would serve you better.

You can, however, mention pointers from your own drafts that you want included and we can perhaps mention it if it is truly beneficial for your application.

All we truly need is your resume/CV to be up to date. If you do not have an updated and optimized resume, we must do that first in order to work on the cover letter.

Can my cover letter be tailored to a specific industry or role? What about being broad and general?

Our Cover letter writing is one of our most sought out services because we truly believe we do it better than anyone else. Seriously.

Once we determine what your role niche is, we will make a golden cover letter that can be adapted easily for different companies and roles (as long as it fits into the similar role niche).

We also provide additional tips and notes on how to best use your cover letter for job applications.

If you need a few more variations, you can ask your career advisor to provide some more versions for free.

How long does my cover letter have to be?

This advice goes to all levels of professionals (early career, mid career, and senior level). Your cover letter should always just be 1 page. Based on your experience, it can take up an extra paragraph or two, but again, it will still remain 1 page.

Recruiters do not spend too much reading cover letters, so a long one will actually hurt your applications.

How do I request revisions?

Very simple! Just ask your career advisor, they are literally dedicated just for you. 99.9% of the time, they will easily be able to help you.

Will you manually edit my linkedin profile?

As unbelievable as it sounds, yes we can.

Manual LinkedIn Application sounds amazing, what’s the catch?

There is no catch. We do not charge anything extra for manual linkedin optimization.

However, please do note that sometimes, around 5% of the time, because someone else is logging in your Linkedin profile to upgrade it, LinkedIn sometimes locks your account temporarily until you provide ID verification.

The good news is once you provide ID verification, the account is unlocked in a few days, and the optimization would have already been updated so you’re good to go. This is the only catch, but not a big problem since it gets solved fast.

We have 0 customers who failed to get their account unlocked.

Who will be my interview coach?

After you place an order for an interview coaching session, you will be taken to the post-order form where you can submit additional information, share your goals, and describe your coaching needs.

Based on this, we will assign you an interview coach who will be the best match for your personal needs and your individual profile. If you order additional interview coaching sessions, you can request to work with the same interview coach again.

How does the interview coaching process work?

Very simple!

First, you place an order, then you fill out the order form, and then provide the necessary details. Within 24 hours, your interview coach will get in touch with you and then coordinate a time with you to set up your first interview coaching session.

Then on the scheduled time, both you and your dedicated interview coach will meet, they will come prepared and lead the sessions, they will have post-call notes which they will also share with you afterwards as well.

If I want to book multiple sessions, can I get the same coach?

Yes, unless you want to try with another coach. No hard feelings on our side.

Usually if you had a positive first session, then you can ask to work with the coach again. You have their details as well so booking another session - they can help guide you if you ever need any help.

Similarly, if you had your first session but you want another session with a different coach you can book another session and then state that you don’t want to work with the same coach again.

We can accommodate both situations.

Do I need interview coaching? What should I start with?

You may need interview coaching if you face any of the below issues:

  • Closing interviews and securing that ultimate job offer
  • Struggling to communicate in an interview in a professional, articulate manner
  • You have not done any interviews in a long time and looking to refresh your skills
  • You have upcoming job interviews and want to prepare yourself in the best possible way

We recommend you start with an elevator pitch and unstructured interview practice - usually these two will help you polish your communication and confidence skills. However, what you need depends on your unique situation so you can tell us in the order form what you are looking for and we will customize a plan accordingly.

Does Career Accelerator guarantee offers?

We partially do. We guarantee interviews.

We guarantee a minimum of 10 official interviews at high quality jobs but on average, we get about 16-25 interviews per client.

We legally cannot guarantee job offers because getting a job offer depends on 2 things:
1. Your interview performance
2. The employer’s impression on your interview performance

Remember, with the Accelerator we will get you a lot of interviews and even help coach you - but, it is still your job to be confident, perform well at the interviews, and get the job offer.

Will I get the exact same results as some of your testimonials?

You might, and you probably will…but it depends.

Results usually vary from person to person. This can depend on various factors, including:
1. Profile, Resume, and LinkedIn strength
2. Amount of high quality jobs available per round
3. Amount of competition for those jobs
4. Job outreach and application quality
5. Your interview performance

We set strict eligibility requirements to ensure your profile is a good fit for our Accelerator. Once you’re accepted, we can control the first 4 elements. The final element is ultimately in your control, but we do offer guidance and support to help you with that too.

However, we cannot predict exactly how long your search will take, how many offers you’ll receive, or what your total compensation would be.

Is this legal?

Yes, we have a complex technical and operation setup to provide you with this accelerator service. All the information, pitching, profile, and background information is still your real information so the authenticity of your applications still remains intact.

Is everyone eligible?

Unfortunately, no.

Are there payment plans?

For the ‘success fees’ of 3% of annual base salary compensation, you have 60 days from the time you sign the new job offer to pay it.

For the deposit, you may see an option to pay with ‘Klarna’ over a period of 4-6 months. Klarna is a buy, now pay later scheme we have partnered with and when you choose to pay through them, they may or may not accept you (which is out of our control) as they have their own background qualification system. If you do not accepted by Klarna and you want to work with our Accelerator program, you have no other choice but to pay the deposit in full.

How do I get started?

This will take you to an eligibility form where we will ask you a few questions, and based on your answers, you will either be eligible or ineligible for our Accelerator.

What is ‘Apply for Me’ and how does it work

‘Apply For Me’ is Career’s done-for-you manual applications service.

We know how tedious and time-consuming applications are, and even with auto-fill tools, it never seems to get it correct and harms your applications even more.

In this service, you get connected 1-on-1 with your own Career assistant who has been trained to search for qualified jobs, apply for them, fill in applications, and has done so for 400+ customers successfully. The whole thing is included for you.

Your dedicated assistant will apply to a large list of jobs for you in 1-3 weeks depending on the package you choose.

Applying to each job costs $2 or less, making this an extremely good bang for your buck!

Will I get many interviews with ‘Apply for Me’?

We cannot guarantee that you will be flooded with interviews. If you want to be flooded with high-quality interviews, you need to check out the Accelerator.

With ‘Apply for Me’, you can expect some interviews from a large volume of applications because even though your dedicated assistant will apply to a lot of jobs, their quality of application will not be 100% the same as you because you know yourself better.

For example, if you apply to 20 jobs you may get 2 interviews. With your dedicated assistant, they might apply to 100 jobs for you, but only get 6 interviews. So although the conversion is not higher, the volume of interviews is expected to be higher. This is just an example.

Other factors that will come into play such as the choice of jobs you finalize, resume quality, application quality, job posting date, job market, and economic conditions.

Can I choose my own list of jobs?

Yes, you can if you want.

Your dedicated career assistant will search for and make a list of jobs for you which you can ask to revise or edit the list along with them if you want. It is completely up to you

The goal is for every 100 jobs, the Career assistant will aim to apply within 1 week

Does my resume need to be optimized before I begin?

Ideally, yes.

With an optimized resume, you have a stronger chance of landing more interviews than if you don’t have it optimized. You can work with Career and get a dedicated career advisor to work on your resume with you to put your best foot forward before you begin your job search.

Are there payment plans?

In this service, you get connected 1-on-1 with your own Career assistant who has been trained to search for qualified jobs, apply for them, fill in applications, and has done so for 400+ customers successfully. The whole thing is included for you.

Your dedicated assistant will apply to a large list of jobs for you in 1-3 weeks depending on the package you choose.

Applying to each job costs $2 or less, making this an extremely good bang for your buck!

Will I get many interviews with ‘Apply for Me’?

We cannot guarantee that you will be flooded with interviews. If you want to be flooded with high-quality interviews, you need to check out the Accelerator.

With ‘Apply for Me’, you can expect some interviews from a large volume of applications because even though your dedicated assistant will apply to a lot of jobs, their quality of application will not be 100% the same as you because you know yourself better.

For example, if you apply to 20 jobs you may get 2 interviews. With your dedicated assistant, they might apply to 100 jobs for you, but only get 6 interviews. So although the conversion is not higher, the volume of interviews is expected to be higher. This is just an example

Other factors that will come into play such as the choice of jobs you finalize, resume quality, application quality, job posting date, job market, and economic conditions.

Can I choose my own list of jobs?

Yes, you can if you want.

Your dedicated career assistant will search for and make a list of jobs for you which you can ask to revise or edit the list along with them if you want. It is completely up to you.

The goal is for every 100 jobs, the Career assistant will aim to apply within 1 week.

Does my resume need to be optimized before I begin?
